That's it for this year

Well that's it for this year, hopefully everyone has survived and enjoyed the sleepover?

From everyone who helps at Beavers: Wendy, Lizzie, Jenny, Adrian, Lydia, Pippa and Matt. We all wish you a merry christmas and have a fabulous new year.

No beavers on the 8th sleepover on the 9th

There is no beavers on the 8th due to the sleep over from the 9th to the 10th

Sleep over Information

Surprise night

On the 1st of December ( not the 30th of November) We have our surprise night, which should be normal time as always at the hut.

Happy Thanks-giving

Night lines!

WARNING!! We may be having rain tonight so please can beavers dress appropriately and parents be prepared in-case children are muddy

On the 24th we are doing night lines, the beavers wont need torches just some warm clothes for the cold Novembers.

Badges!

On the 17th we'll be doing some badge work, so parents will need their sewing kit!

And a HUGE well done to all the Beavers who came on Sunday!!

No beavers on the 10th!

That's right, there's no beavers on the 10th! Instead we will be doing it on Sunday the 13th.

We will be doing the Remembrance Sunday parade. We need everyone at the Admiral Duncan - Baschurch by 10:10am, we will then march with the Cubs and Scouts and Royal British Legion to the church. We expect to finish at11:45am (approximately) at Millington close - Baschurch.

Beavers MUST wear: Beaver sweat shirt, necker, school trousers and school shoes and poppy.

Parade practice and investiture

Yes we'll whip you lot into shape for Remembrance Sunday marching with everyone else. Along with all of them new Beavers, you'll all get invested on Thursday.

Note to parents: Please bring gloves for the 3rd, we will be holding sparklers!

Christmas sleepover arrangements

On the right hand side you'll find a folder 'Christmas sleepover' in here you will find: consent forms, kit list, proposed room configuration and a note about the arrangements for the sleepover. Please note BOTH consent forms need to be returned to Wendy as soon as you can after half term, with payment please.

Halloween Party!

On the 20th we have our spooky Halloween party with all gooey games and surprises!

Summer celebrations and Going up ceremony - Parents welcome

This week is a celebration of the activities undertaken throughout the summer programme.  Certificates and medals are to be awarded.  Parents please attend, Tea and Coffee will be available.

We also have the going up ceremony, which means  WATER PISTOLS!!   Yes the Beavers can bring their own water pistols to spray the Beavers who are moving up to Cubs.
For all those moving up, from the Beavers and the leaders. We hope you enjoy Cubs just as much as you enjoyed Beavers!

New programme

The new Autumn programme is up and ready now!!

There is no Beavers on the 15th of September!!

Lets try rafting again

On the 8th we'll be raft building again, the kids must not wear open toed shoes or wellies as due to health and safety.   We'll be 6pm till 7:30pm and we will be getting very very wet during this activity so bring towels and spare clothes. Be prepared your car will have wet and smelly beavers!

We may possibly run over as well due to a water activity. 

Canoeing

We are up on the water (for the first time!) Beavers MUST NOT wear:  Jeans, open toed shoes (i.e. crocks, sandals etc.) or wellies.  We are starting at 5:50 and finishing at 7:45 pm ish.  We advise you to bring a spare pair of clothes and a towel.  We get very cold, and very very wet!

Bows and arrows

The beavers will need to wear their beaver jumpers as they have to have long sleeves on. We are starting at 6pm so be there for 5:50pm We expect to finish at 7:30(ish)

Raft building canceled

We are all very sorry that the Raft building did not go ahead. PGL have advised us that they will tag it onto the end of the summer  programme.

If your child was booked to attend tonight there name will be put forward for the rescheduled event. 

Rafting

Next week we are rafting. Please ensure your child is wearing fully covering footwear (ie trainers, old shoes), PGL will not allow ANY  child who is wearing open toed shoes OR wellies to participate (health and safety). We will be getting very very wet during this activity so bring towels and spare clothes. Be prepared your car will have wet and smelly beavers!

Please be on the grassed area for drop off AND pick up NOT  at the hut at 5.45 at the very latest.  We may run late on this activity.

Ready, Steady, FIRE!!

Please arrive at 17:50 hundred hours (5:50pm) armed and ready to fire, at PGL by 6pm.

Finishing time is 19:30 hundred hours (7:30pm) if late, bear in mind your child is having fun!!

Assault Course this Thursday !

The 4th will be very muddy!! Bring old and tatty clothes. 

On the 4th of August, we will be undertaking the assault course at PGL. As we are are hoping to be ready for 6 o'clock, please could you try and arrive at PGL for around 5:50pm. We will be finishing at 8pm. If we are a little late, please bear with us, it is because your children are having fun!!!

Abseiling this Thursday

Yes we are abseiling at PGL on the 28th of July. 

Bad news

Unfortunately due to lack of numbers of people going on holiday etc. Beavers will not be running this week. We are greatly sorry to ALL Beavers and parents.

Beavers and Cubs district camp

Beavers will be on Sunday at Oswestry show ground (comment if you need directions). The Beavers will be there with 5 other cub groups from the district and possibly other beaver groups. Have fun!

Cowboys and Indians

Yes we have cowboys and indians this Thursday at the normal place.

Wimbledon this week!

Yes we have a great game of tennis this week at the Corbet school in Baschurch. The session will be at 6-7pm and full beaver uniform.

Due to the Corbet school having an awards evening, we will escort the children to the Admiral Duncan car park where they can be collected from at 7pm.

Crafts night

Yes, it's crafts for the comming up farthers day (sorry mum's). We will be makeing cards and coasters.

It's friday, NOT Thursday!!

Yes Beavers is on, on the Friday the 10th of June. We are meeting up with the Cubs and Scouts for a BBQ from 6:30pm unitll 9pm, feel free to bring seating (bin bags, chairs etc.)

We need ALL beavers attending in full uniform please. Thank you and see you on Friday.

Parents are more than welcome to stay the full time although you do need to bring chairs.

Back to basics

Yes it's that time of year again... We'll be doing back to basicis, we might be outside tonight dependant on the weather, so the beavers feet might be a bit wet!!

UP UP UP AND AWAY!! To Cubs anyway...

Yes, tonight is the going up night to kick the Beavers out and get them to cross the damn into Cubs. We'll hopefully be taking pictures of tonight so keep looking! See you all at 6PM with the water pistols.

Were on a hunt!

That's right, were hunting... For nature!! So we may get a bit muddy. Mum...

Now that we are coming close to summer, Beavers might want to wear there blue t-shirts otherwise they might get a bit hot; or shorts are always an option for beavers to wear.

Were going to be making AND FLYING!! our very own beaver made kite! Do remember it starts at 5.45pm, not at 7pm.

Along with, on behalf of all the leaders and young leaders, and i'm definatly sure ALL the beavers will agree a great big thank you to the Lea's, Satoor's and wixey's for the disco light, and smoke machine to make our disco's, the best!

New Half-Term

All of us Beaver leaders all hope you got plenty of easter egg's and saved some for Matt on Thursday. He'll be hungry!!

We plan to restart on the 28th of April we will be doing our 'Royal wedding bash'!! Come prepared
